Costa Rica

For Dan's birthday this year, he got a week long surf trip to Costa Rica with a bunch of his buddies. They arrived in Costa Rica the night of Dan's birthday and found a little local restaurant for dinner. The waitress was even so kind as to dig out some tres leches from the kitchen and put a candle in it, then their mariachi band sang Dan "Happy Birthday." It might have been the night of his dreams if that tres leches didn't keep them all in the bathroom instead of in the water the whole next day. Needless to say, they spent the rest of the week cooking spaghetti at home so they wouldn't miss any boat trips or opportunities to surf with crocodiles. Dan came home scruffy, tan, and with a giant smile on his face!
