June was my 10 year high school reunion! I know, I know, you are all shocked that I even graduated high school, let alone 10 years ago, but apparently these things happen! This event has caused me to reflect on the last 10 years and here is the summary of what I have done for those of you who are curious and for those of you from my high school class who are reading this to see if I got fat or if my husband is bald.
So, the day of graduation I moved to good ol' Jackson Hole, WY where I cleaned hotel rooms, worked at Haagen Dazs and partied like it was 1999. (It was) After a year of blissful nonsense I started beauty school at Career Beauty College in Rexburg under pressure from my parents to do something with my life. After beauty school, I worked at a salon in Jackson for a year and then Audrey (Anderson, my roommate and partner in crime at the time) and I decided we were ready for a new adventure so we packed up and moved to Monterey, CA. Monterey was an amazing experience and is one of my favorite places on earth! I managed a salon in Carmel, CA and loved it. I left on an LDS mission (I know right?! That shocked me too!) after a year in Monterey and served 18 months in Columbus, Ohio. After my mission I came home to Monterey and decided to give the college thing a try. I loved running the salon and found I wasn't half bad at it so maybe there was something to that. I got an AA in Fashion Merchandising, and an amazing job offer from a designer men's clothing company. I turned down the job and then transferred to California State University-Long Beach in 2005. That was a tough decision, but the company said they would still be interested when I finished my Bachelor's degree so I figured I had nothing to lose. It was a really big transition moving from amazing Monterey, to blah blah Southern California. I didn't know anyone when I moved so I ended up moving in with a friend of a friend in Newport Beach. Little did I know that around the corner from my apartment in Newport was a totally hot surfer boy who was supposed to have left for New York for grad school already, but had ended up postponing for a little while. We met a few weeks later, and after a month (which I swore would NEVER happen to me!) I decided I was going to marry this one. We dated for almost a year and then were married in the Los Angeles LDS temple on August 5, 2006.
I graduated from Cal State Long Beach in May with a degree in Business Economics and Fashion Merchandising. I am currently working at a spa in Huntington Beach as the spa trainer for all of our hairstylists and manicurists. I am also doing some consulting for a hair care line that launches this fall and loving having some free time! Dan has a degree in Art and is part of the creative team of a surf/skate company (Volcom) and does artwork for marketing projects, magazine ads, contests and stuff like that. (So next time you are flipping through Thrasher, stop and appreciate the art!) We are currently loving our old married couple life, and hoping to buy a house like grown-ups in the near future! Don't get excited, its Orange County so it will probably look like the old shed in your parents backyard, but we want a fixer upper that we can make our own! There it is! The last 10 years in a few paragraphs!

Wow! You have accomplished much in such a short time and your life is awesome in comparison to my boring Idaho life. But, I have yet to pass out while giving blood:)
I always knew you were awesome but to see it in writing just makes me jealous! Congratulations on all your accomplishments. I can't believe it has been ten years!!
You got married on my birthday!
You've done a lot since we last talked, congrats!
Just what I thought, still a loser!
Yeah, I am on the third book in the saga. It is really good, but now David is making fun of me like I am going to start reading Harlequin Romance novels and everything that goes along with that.

Your wedding pics are gorgeous- your dress- beautiful- and you look great too.

Sher - what's going on? It was awesome to see your post. I'm sorry for my brutal honesty...but he's totally worth it!!! I love him more every single day. I'm with you on the 10 year reunion - it's crazy right? What about those two awesome girls you spent the whole summer with before your knight in shining armor arrived? I heard they are the coolest!!!
